# Move stock between warehouses

> Move stock from one warehouse to another with a transfer, then approve it so the stock moves.

A transfer moves stock from one warehouse to another, such as from your store room to your shop. By the end of this guide you will have made a transfer and had it approved, so the stock moves.

## Before you start

- **You need two warehouses.** A new shop has one, Default Warehouse. Add another in [Settings › Warehouse](/app/settings/Warehouses): click **Create** and enter a **Name**. Your plan sets how many warehouses you can have.
- **Transfer is in the menu only if your plan includes it.**

## Make the transfer

1. **Open [Transfer › Create Transfer](/app/transfers/store).** The form opens.
2. **Choose the Date, From Warehouse and To Warehouse.** All three are required, and the two warehouses must differ. Choose **From Warehouse** first: the product search looks in it.
3. **Add the products.** Search by name or code, or click the scan button. Each row shows the product's **Stock** in the From Warehouse.
4. **Enter each Qty.** It can't be more than the stock.
5. **Choose the Status.** It starts on **Completed**. The next part explains each one.
6. **Click Submit.** The transfer appears in **All Transfers**.

**Order Tax**, **Discount**, **Shipping** and **Note** are optional.

## Approve it to move the stock

> **Warning:** Clicking **Submit** doesn't move any stock. A new transfer waits for approval first.

To approve it, open **Transfer › All Transfers**, open the transfer's actions and choose **Approve**, then confirm. Approving needs permission to edit transfers. Owners have it.

Once approved, the **Status** decides what moves:

- **Completed**: the stock leaves the From Warehouse and arrives in the To Warehouse.
- **Sent**: the stock leaves the From Warehouse only, because it is on its way. When it arrives, edit the transfer to **Completed**.
- **Pending**: nothing moves yet.

## See your transfers

[All Transfers](/app/transfers/list) lists every transfer and whether it is approved. From each transfer's actions you can view it, download it as a PDF, edit it or delete it.

This guide was written from ArmPOS's screens and code. It has no pictures: the demo shop keeps a single warehouse.
