Why ArmPOS

One system for sales, inventory and every branch

Most small businesses juggle a till, a stock book and a spreadsheet. ArmPOS brings your point of sale, inventory management, purchasing and accounting into one system, so every sale updates your stock and your numbers at once.

Every branch, one view

See stock in every shop and warehouse from one account, down to the rack. Move items between branches with approved transfers, and every movement is recorded.

Know before you run out

Set an alert quantity for each product. When stock falls to it, ArmPOS flags it in the notification bell and on the dashboard, branch by branch, so you reorder before a customer leaves empty-handed.

Speaks your team's language

24 languages, Swahili, Hausa, Yoruba and Arabic among them, for you and your team.

Profit you can see

Sales, profit and stock value update with every sale. Open the dashboard on any device and know how today is going, branch by branch.

Sell online too

Open your own online shop with the same products and stock. Online orders become sales in ArmPOS, so you never sell what you no longer have.

How ArmPOS works

From sign-up to daily profit

Create your free account and set up your shop in minutes. Import products, customers and suppliers from Excel, and give each person on your team their own login.

Scan the barcode or search the item by name, take MTN MoMo, Airtel Money or cash, leave what a regular customer still owes on their account, and print the receipt on a small 58mm printer.

Every sale, purchase, return and transfer updates your inventory. See what your stock is worth and what is running low in each branch.

Sales, profit, inventory and staff reports for any branch and any dates, ready to print or export to PDF and Excel.

A point of sale for the way Uganda trades

Business in Uganda moves in cartons and pieces, on mobile money, and on credit to customers you know by name. ArmPOS keeps all of it in one inventory management system, whether you run a wholesale shop in Kikuubo, a drug shop in Mbarara or a boutique in a Kampala mall.

  • MTN MoMo and Airtel Money at the counter

A customer standing at your counter can pay with MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money, and so can a buyer ordering from your online shop. Each payment is filed against the sale it settled, beside the cash taken that day.

  • Uganda shillings, all the zeros

A busy day's takings run into millions of shillings, so receipts, reports and the dashboard show every amount in full UGX. The ArmPOS subscription is quoted in UGX at the day's rate too, and you pay it from MTN or Airtel to the exact shilling.

  • Supermarkets, phone shops and stationers

A supermarket in Jinja scans barcodes at a busy till, a phone shop on Kampala Road records the IMEI of every handset it sells, and a stationery shop near a school sells exercise books by the dozen or one at a time.

  • Branches beyond Kampala

Many Ugandan traders keep the main store in Kampala and open the next shop nearer their customers in Mbale, Gulu or Arua. ArmPOS keeps each shop's stock apart on one account, sends goods out of the Kampala store on a transfer someone must approve, and shows which branch sold more before the next lorry is loaded.

Point of sale features

Everything you need at the counter: a fast POS screen on any device, flexible payments, and receipts your customers can keep.

  • Fast checkout

Search or scan products, apply discounts and promo codes, and complete a sale in seconds on a computer, tablet or phone.

  • Barcode scanning

Scan with a USB scanner, a phone or tablet camera, or weighing-scale labels that carry the weight in the barcode.

  • Mobile money

Take MTN MoMo and Airtel Money at the till and in your online shop.

  • Receipts and invoices

Print receipts on 58mm or 80mm thermal paper or A4, or send them by email or SMS. Turn quotations into sales and PDF invoices.

  • Held sales and returns

Park a sale and finish it later, and take returns at the till that put items straight back into stock.

  • Cash register

Open and close the register, record cash in and out, and see what the drawer should hold at the end of each shift.

  • Customers and loyalty

Keep customer records and balances, and reward repeat buyers with loyalty points they spend at the till.

  • Keeps selling offline

If the internet drops while you sell, ArmPOS keeps recording sales on the device and syncs them when you're back online.

Inventory management features

Know what you have, where it is and what it's worth, in every shop and warehouse. Your stock updates itself as you sell, buy, return and transfer.

  • Multi-branch inventory

Track stock in every shop and warehouse, down to the rack, from one account.

  • Stock transfers

Move stock between branches with transfers that need approval, so every item is accounted for.

  • Low stock alerts

Set an alert quantity per product, and the bell, the dashboard and the quantity alerts report show what to reorder in each branch.

  • Purchases and suppliers

Raise purchase orders, receive stock into the right warehouse and track what you owe each supplier.

  • Batches and expiry dates

Track batches with expiry dates and sell the earliest-expiring stock first, for pharmacies and food businesses.

  • Serial and IMEI numbers

Record serial or IMEI numbers for phones and electronics, and trace every unit from purchase to sale.

  • Variants and units

Sell in sizes and colours, by the pack or by the piece, with unit conversions handled for you.

  • Counts and adjustments

Download a count sheet by warehouse and category, then record adjustments and damages so your records match the shelf.

Run the whole business

Beyond the till: your online shop, your accounts, your team and the tools you already use, in the same system as your sales and stock.

  • Your online shop

Your own web shop with collections and banners. Customers pay by card or cash on delivery, and orders come from the same stock.

  • Accounting and profit

Expenses, cash and bank accounts, profit and loss, and a full accounting module with journals, a trial balance and a balance sheet.

  • About 60 reports

Sales, payments, tax, customers, suppliers, staff and inventory reports, including stock value, ageing and expiry, to print or export.

  • Staff and permissions

Give each person their own login and decide what they can see and do. Keep shifts, leave and attendance records too.

  • Integrations

Sync products, stock and orders with WooCommerce and Shopify, and send your sales to QuickBooks as invoices.

  • Messages and campaigns

Send invoices and marketing campaigns by email, SMS and WhatsApp to bring customers back.

  • Hardware that fits

Works with USB barcode scanners, 58mm and 80mm receipt printers, label printers, a customer display and cash drawers through QZ Tray, or simply the phone you already have.

  • Kitchen display

Send orders from the till straight to a kitchen screen, so cafés and takeaways prepare them in order without paper tickets.

Frequently asked questions

Which point of sale software works best for a Kikuubo wholesale shop?
ArmPOS is made for a counter that buys by the carton and sells by the piece. You receive twenty cartons of soap, sell single bars, and the stock stays right in both units. It runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer, so a shop in Kikuubo can start on the phone it already has.
Can my customers pay with MTN MoMo or Airtel Money?
Yes, on a paid plan, at the counter and in your online shop. The money comes through your shop's own MarzPay account and the sale is marked with how it was paid, so nobody has to match mobile money messages on a phone against sales in a notebook at the end of the day.
I give regular customers goods on credit. Can ArmPOS keep track of who owes what?
Yes. Each customer has a running balance that rises when they take goods on credit and falls as they pay you back, and you can set a credit limit for each one. Their record lists every sale and payment, so a question about last month's account is answered from the screen, not from memory.
Does ArmPOS suit a drug shop or pharmacy in Uganda?
Yes. Receive each delivery with its batch number and expiry date, and when you sell, the batch closest to its date goes out first. Medicines running low show in the notification bell and on the Product Quantity Alerts report, so you reorder from your supplier before a customer is turned away.
What does ArmPOS cost, and can I pay for it in shillings?
A wholesale shop in Kikuubo or a drug shop in Masaka can skip the card form and sell on Starter, the free plan. When the shop needs more, the paid plans are listed in UGX at the day's rate, and you pay the exact amount from MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money.
I run a boutique in a Kampala mall. Can ArmPOS handle sizes and colours?
Yes. Create one product with a variant for each size and colour, give every variant its own barcode, and see the stock of each one in every branch. Sales are recorded by variant, so you know whether the medium blue shirt sold or sat on the rail before you order again.
Can I take orders online and deliver around Kampala with payment on arrival?
Yes. Your online shop sells from the same stock as the counter, so one count covers both. A customer can pay ahead with MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money or choose cash on delivery, and the boda boda rider collects the money at the door.
Can a hardware shop give a contractor a quotation and bill it later?
Yes. Price the iron sheets, cement and timber the contractor asked for in a quotation, email it from ArmPOS, and convert it into a sale on the day the site sends for the goods, without entering a single item twice. Whatever the contractor has not paid yet stays on their account until the last instalment comes in.
