Why ArmPOS

One system for sales, inventory and every branch

Most small businesses juggle a till, a stock book and a spreadsheet. ArmPOS brings your point of sale, inventory management, purchasing and accounting into one system, so every sale updates your stock and your numbers at once.

Every branch, one view

See stock in every shop and warehouse from one account, down to the rack. Move items between branches with approved transfers, and every movement is recorded.

Know before you run out

Set an alert quantity for each product. When stock falls to it, ArmPOS flags it in the notification bell and on the dashboard, branch by branch, so you reorder before a customer leaves empty-handed.

Speaks your team's language

Use ArmPOS in 24 languages, including English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Hindi and Chinese, with right-to-left screens for Arabic.

Profit you can see

Sales, profit and stock value update with every sale. Open the dashboard on any device and know how today is going, branch by branch.

Sell online too

Open your own online shop with the same products and stock. Online orders become sales in ArmPOS, so you never sell what you no longer have.

How ArmPOS works

From sign-up to daily profit

Create your free account and set up your shop in minutes. Import products, customers and suppliers from Excel, and give each person on your team their own login.

Scan each line, take notes, a card or a transfer, knock off the odd cents when change runs out, and hand over the slip.

Every sale, purchase, return and transfer updates your inventory. See what your stock is worth and what is running low in each branch.

Sales, profit, inventory and staff reports for any branch and any dates, ready to print or export to PDF and Excel.

A till that works in the dollars you price in

A Zimbabwean shop prices mostly in US dollars, keeps ZiG beside them and often brings its stock up through Beitbridge. ArmPOS runs your shop in one currency you choose, and holds the stock, the suppliers and the profit in it.

  • Notes, card or transfer, each on the sale

Dollar notes, a card swiped on the bank's machine and bank transfers each go against the sale. The swipe itself happens on the bank's machine, which ArmPOS never touches. Add your own methods in Settings, and split one bill, say five dollars in notes and the rest by card.

  • US dollars or ZiG, never both at once

A new account starts in ZiG, the country's currency, and a shop that prices in dollars switches to USD in Settings before loading its prices. Receipts, stock values and reports all follow that one currency. ArmPOS never converts between dollars and ZiG at the till.

  • Tuckshops, hardware stores and traders

A tuckshop in Chitungwiza sells bread, sugar and cooking oil across a crowded counter. A hardware store in Gweru quotes builders for cement and roofing sheets before they buy. A trader in Bulawayo sells clothes and small appliances bought in Johannesburg, by the dozen or one at a time.

  • Harare, Bulawayo and Mutare on one account

Bulawayo or Mutare can join as a branch that keeps its own stock and its own cashiers. Whatever leaves the Harare store goes on a transfer that a manager must approve, so it lands in the other branch's count and nowhere else.

Point of sale features

Everything you need at the counter: a fast POS screen on any device, flexible payments, and receipts your customers can keep.

  • Fast checkout

Search or scan products, apply discounts and promo codes, and complete a sale in seconds on a computer, tablet or phone.

  • Barcode scanning

Scan with a USB scanner, a phone or tablet camera, or weighing-scale labels that carry the weight in the barcode.

  • Split payments

Take cash, card and other methods in one sale, and record exactly how each customer paid.

  • Receipts and invoices

Print receipts on 58mm or 80mm thermal paper or A4, or send them by email or SMS. Turn quotations into sales and PDF invoices.

  • Held sales and returns

Park a sale and finish it later, and take returns at the till that put items straight back into stock.

  • Cash register

Open and close the register, record cash in and out, and see what the drawer should hold at the end of each shift.

  • Customers and loyalty

Keep customer records and balances, and reward repeat buyers with loyalty points they spend at the till.

  • Keeps selling offline

If the internet drops while you sell, ArmPOS keeps recording sales on the device and syncs them when you're back online.

Inventory management features

Know what you have, where it is and what it's worth, in every shop and warehouse. Your stock updates itself as you sell, buy, return and transfer.

  • Multi-branch inventory

Track stock in every shop and warehouse, down to the rack, from one account.

  • Stock transfers

Move stock between branches with transfers that need approval, so every item is accounted for.

  • Low stock alerts

Set an alert quantity per product, and the bell, the dashboard and the quantity alerts report show what to reorder in each branch.

  • Purchases and suppliers

Raise purchase orders, receive stock into the right warehouse and track what you owe each supplier.

  • Batches and expiry dates

Track batches with expiry dates and sell the earliest-expiring stock first, for pharmacies and food businesses.

  • Serial and IMEI numbers

Record serial or IMEI numbers for phones and electronics, and trace every unit from purchase to sale.

  • Variants and units

Sell in sizes and colours, by the pack or by the piece, with unit conversions handled for you.

  • Counts and adjustments

Download a count sheet by warehouse and category, then record adjustments and damages so your records match the shelf.

Run the whole business

Beyond the till: your online shop, your accounts, your team and the tools you already use, in the same system as your sales and stock.

  • Your online shop

Your own web shop with collections and banners. Customers pay by card or cash on delivery, and orders come from the same stock.

  • Accounting and profit

Expenses, cash and bank accounts, profit and loss, and a full accounting module with journals, a trial balance and a balance sheet.

  • About 60 reports

Sales, payments, tax, customers, suppliers, staff and inventory reports, including stock value, ageing and expiry, to print or export.

  • Staff and permissions

Give each person their own login and decide what they can see and do. Keep shifts, leave and attendance records too.

  • Integrations

Sync products, stock and orders with WooCommerce and Shopify, and send your sales to QuickBooks as invoices.

  • Messages and campaigns

Send invoices and marketing campaigns by email, SMS and WhatsApp to bring customers back.

  • Hardware that fits

Works with USB barcode scanners, 58mm and 80mm receipt printers, label printers, a customer display and cash drawers through QZ Tray, or simply the phone you already have.

  • Kitchen display

Send orders from the till straight to a kitchen screen, so cafés and takeaways prepare them in order without paper tickets.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best POS for a tuckshop that prices in US dollars?
A tuckshop needs fast selling, a stock count it can believe and a profit figure in the dollars it actually takes. ArmPOS gives all three on a phone, with the camera as the scanner. Starter is free for 1 branch, 2 users and up to 50 products, which fits a tuckshop's fastest-moving lines.
Some of my prices are in ZiG. Can ArmPOS run both currencies at once?
No. Each shop runs in one currency, chosen in Settings, and ArmPOS does not convert between US dollars and ZiG at the counter. A shop that prices in dollars sets USD and keeps it. A shop that prices in ZiG sets ZiG, and every receipt and report then reads in ZiG.
We keep running out of small change. How do I keep the drawer right?
Record what the customer really paid. If you round a bill down for lack of change, take the odd cents off as a discount. The sale and the cash then agree. If the customer takes a sweet instead, add it to the sale and the stock stays right too. At closing, the cash register shows what the drawer should hold.
I buy stock in Johannesburg and bring it through Beitbridge. How do I add it?
Enter each trip as a purchase from the supplier, with every cost written in your shop's currency. Receive the goods into the shop or store room where you unpack them, and the count rises by exactly that load. Clothing can carry its sizes and colours, each with a barcode of its own.
Rent, transport and electricity also come out in US dollars. Can I see what the shop really earns?
Yes. Record each expense as it goes out, and the profit and loss report takes it off what your sales earned. Cash and bank accounts, the balance sheet and the trial balance are there for your accountant, and every report exports to PDF or Excel.
My brother runs our Bulawayo branch. Can I follow it from Harare?
Yes. The dashboard and the reports break sales, stock and profit down by branch, so Bulawayo's day can be read from your phone in Harare. His role decides what he may change there, for example whether he can edit prices or only sell at them.
Is ArmPOS billed in US dollars?
Yes. ArmPOS charges its paid plans to a card in US dollars, the currency already on most Zimbabwean price tags. A dollar shop therefore pays in the money it earns, with no exchange rate in between. A group with several stores can go to Professional, which holds 5 warehouses, or to Enterprise, which holds as many as you open.
I sell cooking oil to tuckshop owners by the case and to walk-in buyers by the bottle. Will stock stay right?
Yes. Set up the oil with the case as its buying unit and the bottle as a selling unit, twelve to a case for example. Sell a case to a tuckshop owner and two bottles to the next buyer. The store room count drops by exactly that much.
