Why ArmPOS

One system for sales, inventory and every branch

Most small businesses juggle a till, a stock book and a spreadsheet. ArmPOS brings your point of sale, inventory management, purchasing and accounting into one system, so every sale updates your stock and your numbers at once.

Every branch, one view

See stock in every shop and warehouse from one account, down to the rack. Move items between branches with approved transfers, and every movement is recorded.

Know before you run out

Set an alert quantity for each product. When stock falls to it, ArmPOS flags it in the notification bell and on the dashboard, branch by branch, so you reorder before a customer leaves empty-handed.

Speaks your team's language

Use ArmPOS in 24 languages, including English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Hindi and Chinese, with right-to-left screens for Arabic.

Profit you can see

Sales, profit and stock value update with every sale. Open the dashboard on any device and know how today is going, branch by branch.

Sell online too

Open your own online shop with the same products and stock. Online orders become sales in ArmPOS, so you never sell what you no longer have.

How ArmPOS works

From sign-up to daily profit

Create your free account and set up your shop in minutes. Import products, customers and suppliers from Excel, and give each person on your team their own login.

Tap the pastry or scan the packet, and café orders appear on the kitchen screen. Take the nakfa, give the change and print a 58mm receipt.

Every sale, purchase, return and transfer updates your inventory. See what your stock is worth and what is running low in each branch.

Sales, profit, inventory and staff reports for any branch and any dates, ready to print or export to PDF and Excel.

Made for a cash counter and an unsteady line

In Asmara most sales are paid in nakfa notes, and a shop cannot count on being online all day. ArmPOS tells you what the drawer should hold and keeps each sale on the device until it can be sent.

  • Nakfa notes, counted to the last one

Open the register each morning with the float in the drawer, and record any cash taken out for supplies. At closing, ArmPOS works out how many nakfa ought to be in the drawer, and you count the notes against it. Card payments on the shop's own terminal and bank transfers go on record too. ArmPOS never connects to that terminal, and one bill can be split between methods.

  • Nakfa on the shelf, dollars on the plan

In the shop itself, nakfa is the only currency: on the label, the receipt and the profit report. Each paid plan has a dollar price, and the pricing section prints a nakfa figure beside it at the day's rate. You read the cost in the currency you earn before you pick a plan.

  • Cafés, spice stalls and workshops

On Harnet Avenue, a café puts every macchiato and cake order on a screen behind the bar the moment the till takes it. A spice seller at the central market buys berbere by the sack and sells it by the kilo. A Medeber workshop prints barcode labels for the stoves and pots it makes from scrap metal.

  • From Asmara to Keren and Massawa

Keren or Massawa can host a second counter, set up as a branch with its own stock list and cashier rota. Goods sent from the Asmara store leave one branch and arrive in the other once a manager approves the transfer. Keren's takings never blur into Asmara's.

Point of sale features

Everything you need at the counter: a fast POS screen on any device, flexible payments, and receipts your customers can keep.

  • Fast checkout

Search or scan products, apply discounts and promo codes, and complete a sale in seconds on a computer, tablet or phone.

  • Barcode scanning

Scan with a USB scanner, a phone or tablet camera, or weighing-scale labels that carry the weight in the barcode.

  • Split payments

Take cash, card and other methods in one sale, and record exactly how each customer paid.

  • Receipts and invoices

Print receipts on 58mm or 80mm thermal paper or A4, or send them by email or SMS. Turn quotations into sales and PDF invoices.

  • Held sales and returns

Park a sale and finish it later, and take returns at the till that put items straight back into stock.

  • Cash register

Open and close the register, record cash in and out, and see what the drawer should hold at the end of each shift.

  • Customers and loyalty

Keep customer records and balances, and reward repeat buyers with loyalty points they spend at the till.

  • Keeps selling offline

If the internet drops while you sell, ArmPOS keeps recording sales on the device and syncs them when you're back online.

Inventory management features

Know what you have, where it is and what it's worth, in every shop and warehouse. Your stock updates itself as you sell, buy, return and transfer.

  • Multi-branch inventory

Track stock in every shop and warehouse, down to the rack, from one account.

  • Stock transfers

Move stock between branches with transfers that need approval, so every item is accounted for.

  • Low stock alerts

Set an alert quantity per product, and the bell, the dashboard and the quantity alerts report show what to reorder in each branch.

  • Purchases and suppliers

Raise purchase orders, receive stock into the right warehouse and track what you owe each supplier.

  • Batches and expiry dates

Track batches with expiry dates and sell the earliest-expiring stock first, for pharmacies and food businesses.

  • Serial and IMEI numbers

Record serial or IMEI numbers for phones and electronics, and trace every unit from purchase to sale.

  • Variants and units

Sell in sizes and colours, by the pack or by the piece, with unit conversions handled for you.

  • Counts and adjustments

Download a count sheet by warehouse and category, then record adjustments and damages so your records match the shelf.

Run the whole business

Beyond the till: your online shop, your accounts, your team and the tools you already use, in the same system as your sales and stock.

  • Your online shop

Your own web shop with collections and banners. Customers pay by card or cash on delivery, and orders come from the same stock.

  • Accounting and profit

Expenses, cash and bank accounts, profit and loss, and a full accounting module with journals, a trial balance and a balance sheet.

  • About 60 reports

Sales, payments, tax, customers, suppliers, staff and inventory reports, including stock value, ageing and expiry, to print or export.

  • Staff and permissions

Give each person their own login and decide what they can see and do. Keep shifts, leave and attendance records too.

  • Integrations

Sync products, stock and orders with WooCommerce and Shopify, and send your sales to QuickBooks as invoices.

  • Messages and campaigns

Send invoices and marketing campaigns by email, SMS and WhatsApp to bring customers back.

  • Hardware that fits

Works with USB barcode scanners, 58mm and 80mm receipt printers, label printers, a customer display and cash drawers through QZ Tray, or simply the phone you already have.

  • Kitchen display

Send orders from the till straight to a kitchen screen, so cafés and takeaways prepare them in order without paper tickets.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best POS system for a café or pastry shop in Asmara?
One that gets each order to the kitchen and shows what the counter sold. A macchiato or a cake rung up at the till appears on the kitchen screen. A table's order can be held until they pay. The day's sales report then counts how many of each pastry left the counter.
Which parts of ArmPOS need the internet, and which do not?
Signing up, opening the POS for the first time on a device and sending sales to your account all need a connection. Selling itself carries on without one, provided the POS was opened beforehand and the tablet or phone stays switched on. Whatever you sell while offline waits on that device, then goes up to your account a single time when the line returns.
I sell berbere and other spices by weight. Can ArmPOS handle the sack and the kilo?
Yes. Tell ArmPOS that berbere comes in by the sack and goes out by the kilo, and it does the conversion. A delivery of ten sacks goes in once, and each kilo sold comes off that same count. If your scale prints barcodes that carry the weight, each bag of spice it labels scans straight into the sale.
At month end my accountant wants the figures on paper. Can ArmPOS print them?
Yes. Around 60 reports cover sales, expenses and stock value, and each one prints or saves as a PDF or Excel file. The accounting side keeps your cash and bank accounts, a profit and loss statement and a balance sheet. Print them while you are online, and the paper copy goes wherever your accountant works.
How do I know when a shelf is about to run empty?
Give each product a reorder point, such as 5 kilos of berbere or 2 trays of biscuits. Once the berbere drops below that mark, the bell at the top of the screen lists it, and so does the dashboard. The Product Quantity Alerts report gathers every such item into one reorder list. Those alerts stay inside the app, so glance at the bell each time you open the till.
Two of us share the counter in shifts. Can I see who sold what?
Yes. Each person signs in with a login of their own, so every sale carries the name of whoever made it. The shift and attendance records tell you who stood at the counter on which day. The staff report compares their totals at the end of the week.
Is there an app to download for my phone?
No app store is involved. Type the ArmPOS address into the browser of any Android phone, iPhone, tablet or computer, then pin it to the home screen. From there it opens like any app. Its camera reads barcodes, so the phone is the scanner as well.
How do I pay for ArmPOS from Eritrea?
Paid plans are charged to a card in US dollars, which not every shop in Asmara holds. Without one, start on the free Starter plan, which needs no card and suits a café or market stall while it fits. Read the plan cards on this page for what a paid level adds once Starter feels tight.
