Point of sale and stock control for Nigerian shops

Point of Sale & Inventory Management Software in Nigeria

In Nigeria, POS usually means the card machine on the counter. ArmPOS is point of sale software with inventory management behind the whole shop: it rings up each item, notes whether the customer paid cash, by transfer or on that machine, and keeps your stock and profit in naira.

Why ArmPOS

One system for sales, inventory and every branch

Most small businesses juggle a till, a stock book and a spreadsheet. ArmPOS brings your point of sale, inventory management, purchasing and accounting into one system, so every sale updates your stock and your numbers at once.

Every branch, one view

See stock in every shop and warehouse from one account, down to the rack. Move items between branches with approved transfers, and every movement is recorded.

Know before you run out

Set an alert quantity for each product. When stock falls to it, ArmPOS flags it in the notification bell and on the dashboard, branch by branch, so you reorder before a customer leaves empty-handed.

Speaks your team's language

Use ArmPOS in 24 languages, including English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Hindi and Chinese, with right-to-left screens for Arabic.

Profit you can see

Sales, profit and stock value update with every sale. Open the dashboard on any device and know how today is going, branch by branch.

Sell online too

Open your own online shop with the same products and stock. Online orders become sales in ArmPOS, so you never sell what you no longer have.

How ArmPOS works

From sign-up to daily profit

Create your free account and set up your shop in minutes. Import products, customers and suppliers from Excel, and give each person on your team their own login.

Ring up each item with a scanner or your phone's camera, mark how the customer paid (cash, bank transfer or the card terminal), split it when part comes in cash, and hand over a printed receipt or send one by SMS.

Every sale, purchase, return and transfer updates your inventory. See what your stock is worth and what is running low in each branch.

Sales, profit, inventory and staff reports for any branch and any dates, ready to print or export to PDF and Excel.

More than the POS machine on your counter

Many Nigerian shops run on a bank terminal for cards, a notebook for stock and prices that change with every supply run. ArmPOS brings the selling, the stock and the money into one app, from a provision store in Surulere to a supermarket in Wuse 2.

  • Terminal and transfer payments, on record

A customer pays on the Moniepoint, OPay or bank terminal by your counter, or sends a transfer, and the cashier marks the sale with that method. ArmPOS doesn't connect to the terminal; it keeps the record, so each credit alert can be matched to the sale it paid for.

  • Naira prices that keep changing

When your supplier's price goes up, change the product's selling price once and the till charges the new price from the next sale, so no cashier works from last week's price list.

  • Provision stores to phone shops

The same point of sale and inventory system serves a supermarket in Lekki, a phone dealer in Computer Village, a pharmacy in Garki and a carton wholesaler at Idumota market, each set up for the way it sells.

  • A second branch, then a third

Open a branch in Port Harcourt or Ibadan with its own cashiers, register and stock, and send goods out of the Lagos warehouse only through a transfer someone approves, so every carton that leaves one branch is accounted for at the other.

Point of sale features

Everything you need at the counter: a fast POS screen on any device, flexible payments, and receipts your customers can keep.

  • Fast checkout

Search or scan products, apply discounts and promo codes, and complete a sale in seconds on a computer, tablet or phone.

  • Barcode scanning

Scan with a USB scanner, a phone or tablet camera, or weighing-scale labels that carry the weight in the barcode.

  • Split payments

Take cash, card and other methods in one sale, and record exactly how each customer paid.

  • Receipts and invoices

Print receipts on 58mm or 80mm thermal paper or A4, or send them by email or SMS. Turn quotations into sales and PDF invoices.

  • Held sales and returns

Park a sale and finish it later, and take returns at the till that put items straight back into stock.

  • Cash register

Open and close the register, record cash in and out, and see what the drawer should hold at the end of each shift.

  • Customers and loyalty

Keep customer records and balances, and reward repeat buyers with loyalty points they spend at the till.

  • Keeps selling offline

If the internet drops while you sell, ArmPOS keeps recording sales on the device and syncs them when you're back online.

Inventory management features

Know what you have, where it is and what it's worth, in every shop and warehouse. Your stock updates itself as you sell, buy, return and transfer.

  • Multi-branch inventory

Track stock in every shop and warehouse, down to the rack, from one account.

  • Stock transfers

Move stock between branches with transfers that need approval, so every item is accounted for.

  • Low stock alerts

Set an alert quantity per product, and the bell, the dashboard and the quantity alerts report show what to reorder in each branch.

  • Purchases and suppliers

Raise purchase orders, receive stock into the right warehouse and track what you owe each supplier.

  • Batches and expiry dates

Track batches with expiry dates and sell the earliest-expiring stock first, for pharmacies and food businesses.

  • Serial and IMEI numbers

Record serial or IMEI numbers for phones and electronics, and trace every unit from purchase to sale.

  • Variants and units

Sell in sizes and colours, by the pack or by the piece, with unit conversions handled for you.

  • Counts and adjustments

Download a count sheet by warehouse and category, then record adjustments and damages so your records match the shelf.

Run the whole business

Beyond the till: your online shop, your accounts, your team and the tools you already use, in the same system as your sales and stock.

  • Your online shop

Your own web shop with collections and banners. Customers pay by card or cash on delivery, and orders come from the same stock.

  • Accounting and profit

Expenses, cash and bank accounts, profit and loss, and a full accounting module with journals, a trial balance and a balance sheet.

  • About 60 reports

Sales, payments, tax, customers, suppliers, staff and inventory reports, including stock value, ageing and expiry, to print or export.

  • Staff and permissions

Give each person their own login and decide what they can see and do. Keep shifts, leave and attendance records too.

  • Integrations

Sync products, stock and orders with WooCommerce and Shopify, and send your sales to QuickBooks as invoices.

  • Messages and campaigns

Send invoices and marketing campaigns by email, SMS and WhatsApp to bring customers back.

  • Hardware that fits

Works with USB barcode scanners, 58mm and 80mm receipt printers, label printers, a customer display and cash drawers through QZ Tray, or simply the phone you already have.

  • Kitchen display

Send orders from the till straight to a kitchen screen, so cafés and takeaways prepare them in order without paper tickets.

Frequently asked questions

Our shop already has a bank POS machine. Do we still need POS software, and which is best?
The bank machine takes the payment and nothing more, so it can't tell you what was sold, what is left on the shelf or what the day made. ArmPOS covers the rest of the shop: each sale takes the items out of stock, records how it was paid and adds to a profit figure you can check in naira on your phone.
Can ArmPOS record payments made on my Moniepoint or OPay terminal?
It records them, though it doesn't connect to the terminal. The customer pays on the terminal as usual, the cashier picks the matching payment method in ArmPOS, and the sale is saved with how it was paid. Bank transfer is already set up, and you can add a method for each terminal you use, so your payment reports show how much came in through each one.
Is there a POS that tracks IMEI numbers for phone sellers in Computer Village?
Yes. Enter the IMEI of each handset as it arrives from your supplier, and every sale shows exactly which unit left the shop and who bought it, which helps when a customer brings a phone back. Chargers, pouches and screen guards sell from the same stock in each model and colour.
How does ArmPOS help a pharmacy in Nigeria keep track of expiry dates?
Each delivery from a distributor goes in as its own batch with an expiry date. At the counter, ArmPOS sells from the batch that expires soonest, and the expiry report shows what is due to go off in the coming weeks, while there is still time to return it to the distributor or sell it at a discount.
Can each cashier in a Lagos supermarket have their own login and till?
Yes. Every cashier signs in with their own account, opens the cash register with a float at the start of the shift and closes it at the end, with each cash-in and cash-out on record. Their role decides what they may do, so a cashier can sell, hold a sale for a customer who went back for bread and take a return without reaching the reports or settings you keep for yourself.
We sell by the carton to retailers and by the pack to walk-in customers. Can ArmPOS handle both?
Yes. Set a product's units once, for example a carton of 24 packs, and ArmPOS converts between them, so selling one carton takes 24 packs out of stock and selling a single pack takes one. You buy by the carton, sell either way, and the shelf count stays correct.
With the naira moving, how are ArmPOS plans priced?
Each plan has one dollar price, and the naira amount beside it is recalculated daily, so a plan can look dearer in naira next month without its dollar price changing at all. You pay with a card, in USD. On the free Starter plan you get 1 branch, 2 users and up to 50 products without entering a card, enough to run a small kiosk or to test ArmPOS on your busiest shelf before paying for more.
Can I keep selling when there is no light and the network is down?
Yes, as long as the POS was already open and the device has battery. A laptop or phone goes on ringing up sales while the generator is off and the network is gone, keeps each one on the device, and sends it to your account when the connection comes back. The very first time you open the POS on a device, it needs the internet.
