By the end you will have recorded when your staff arrived and left, and you will know how ArmPOS works out lateness and hours from their shift.

Attendance comes with HR, which some plans include. Your staff need an employee record and a shift first: see Employees.

Record a day

Attendance is entered by a manager: staff don't clock themselves in.

  1. Open HRM › Attendance and click Create.
  2. Pick the Company and the Employee.
  3. Pick the Date from the calendar.
  4. Set Time In and Time Out. Click the box, then the hour on the clock, then the minutes, then done. The inner ring holds 12 to 23.
  5. Click Submit.
The Create attendance window: Company Demo Store, Employee Joseph Kato, Date 2026-10-15, Time In 08:20, Time Out 18:00, and Submit.
All five are required. The times use the 24-hour clock.

How it is counted

ArmPOS compares each day with the employee's shift for that weekday:

  • Arriving after the shift starts counts as late time. Arriving early is shown as the shift's start.
  • Leaving before the shift ends counts as leaving early; leaving after it, as overtime.
  • Work Duration is the time between arrival and departure.
Attendance: Joseph Kato on 2026-10-15, 08:20 to 18:00, 09:40; Grace Auma on 2026-10-16, 08:00 to 17:30, 09:35; and Grace Auma on 2026-10-15, 08:05 to 18:10, 10:05.
Grace arrived at 07:55 on the 16th: the list shows the shift start, 08:00, and her duration counts from 07:55.

Reports › Attendance summary adds up the hours by day or month, for a company or one employee.
