Why ArmPOS

One system for sales, inventory and every branch

Most small businesses juggle a till, a stock book and a spreadsheet. ArmPOS brings your point of sale, inventory management, purchasing and accounting into one system, so every sale updates your stock and your numbers at once.

Every branch, one view

See stock in every shop and warehouse from one account, down to the rack. Move items between branches with approved transfers, and every movement is recorded.

Know before you run out

Set an alert quantity for each product. When stock falls to it, ArmPOS flags it in the notification bell and on the dashboard, branch by branch, so you reorder before a customer leaves empty-handed.

Speaks your team's language

Use ArmPOS in 24 languages, including English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Hindi and Chinese, with right-to-left screens for Arabic.

Profit you can see

Sales, profit and stock value update with every sale. Open the dashboard on any device and know how today is going, branch by branch.

Sell online too

Open your own online shop with the same products and stock. Online orders become sales in ArmPOS, so you never sell what you no longer have.

How ArmPOS works

Trade that starts at the port

Almost everything on a Djiboutian shelf came in through the port, the same port that sends trucks up the road to Ethiopia. ArmPOS follows each carton from the container to the counter and prices it in francs.

  • Notes in the market, cards in town

Most customers hand over franc notes, while restaurants and hotels in the city also take cards. Whichever it is, the cashier picks cash, card or bank transfer on the sale. The bank's terminal stays a separate box, and ArmPOS only writes down the method chosen. Settings takes a new method for each terminal or account you use, and a single bill can be shared between two of them.

  • A franc that holds still

The Djibouti franc has been fixed at 177.721 to the US dollar since 1973. Because of that peg, a paid plan's franc price on the pricing section hardly shifts from month to month. Behind the counter, every receipt, stock value and profit figure is in Djibouti francs.

  • Wholesalers, boutiques and supérettes

A wholesaler near the port sells textiles and cosmetics by the bale or the carton to traders bound for Dire Dawa. In Quartier 1, a clothing boutique gives each size and colour of a dress its own barcode, so the rack count stays exact. A supérette in Balbala reorders imported milk and pasta before the shelf runs empty.

  • Ali Sabieh, Dikhil and Tadjourah

Open in Ali Sabieh or Tadjourah, and the new shop gets its own cashiers and shelf counts inside the account you already have. Nothing leaves the Djibouti-ville warehouse for Dikhil until a manager has approved the transfer. From the capital you compare what each town sold and earned this week.

Point of sale features

Everything you need at the counter: a fast POS screen on any device, flexible payments, and receipts your customers can keep.

  • Fast checkout

Search or scan products, apply discounts and promo codes, and complete a sale in seconds on a computer, tablet or phone.

  • Barcode scanning

Scan with a USB scanner, a phone or tablet camera, or weighing-scale labels that carry the weight in the barcode.

  • Split payments

Take cash, card and other methods in one sale, and record exactly how each customer paid.

  • Receipts and invoices

Print receipts on 58mm or 80mm thermal paper or A4, or send them by email or SMS. Turn quotations into sales and PDF invoices.

  • Held sales and returns

Park a sale and finish it later, and take returns at the till that put items straight back into stock.

  • Cash register

Open and close the register, record cash in and out, and see what the drawer should hold at the end of each shift.

  • Customers and loyalty

Keep customer records and balances, and reward repeat buyers with loyalty points they spend at the till.

  • Keeps selling offline

If the internet drops while you sell, ArmPOS keeps recording sales on the device and syncs them when you're back online.

Inventory management features

Know what you have, where it is and what it's worth, in every shop and warehouse. Your stock updates itself as you sell, buy, return and transfer.

  • Multi-branch inventory

Track stock in every shop and warehouse, down to the rack, from one account.

  • Stock transfers

Move stock between branches with transfers that need approval, so every item is accounted for.

  • Low stock alerts

Set an alert quantity per product, and the bell, the dashboard and the quantity alerts report show what to reorder in each branch.

  • Purchases and suppliers

Raise purchase orders, receive stock into the right warehouse and track what you owe each supplier.

  • Batches and expiry dates

Track batches with expiry dates and sell the earliest-expiring stock first, for pharmacies and food businesses.

  • Serial and IMEI numbers

Record serial or IMEI numbers for phones and electronics, and trace every unit from purchase to sale.

  • Variants and units

Sell in sizes and colours, by the pack or by the piece, with unit conversions handled for you.

  • Counts and adjustments

Download a count sheet by warehouse and category, then record adjustments and damages so your records match the shelf.

Run the whole business

Beyond the till: your online shop, your accounts, your team and the tools you already use, in the same system as your sales and stock.

  • Your online shop

Your own web shop with collections and banners. Customers pay by card or cash on delivery, and orders come from the same stock.

  • Accounting and profit

Expenses, cash and bank accounts, profit and loss, and a full accounting module with journals, a trial balance and a balance sheet.

  • About 60 reports

Sales, payments, tax, customers, suppliers, staff and inventory reports, including stock value, ageing and expiry, to print or export.

  • Staff and permissions

Give each person their own login and decide what they can see and do. Keep shifts, leave and attendance records too.

  • Integrations

Sync products, stock and orders with WooCommerce and Shopify, and send your sales to QuickBooks as invoices.

  • Messages and campaigns

Send invoices and marketing campaigns by email, SMS and WhatsApp to bring customers back.

  • Hardware that fits

Works with USB barcode scanners, 58mm and 80mm receipt printers, label printers, a customer display and cash drawers through QZ Tray, or simply the phone you already have.

  • Kitchen display

Send orders from the till straight to a kitchen screen, so cafés and takeaways prepare them in order without paper tickets.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best point of sale software for a Djibouti shop whose staff work in French and Arabic?
Software that lets each device speak the language of the person using it. Whoever signs in, a till in Djibouti keeps the language its device was set to. Your cashier can sell in Arabic, reading right to left, while the accountant keeps French on the back-office laptop. Underneath, the stock, receipts and reports are the same, in francs.
Traders buy from me by the carton, walk-in customers by the piece. Can one stock count serve both?
Yes. Set each product's units once, for instance a carton of 48 bottles of shampoo. ArmPOS converts between them, so a carton sold to a trader and a single bottle sold over the counter both come off the right count. Sold whole or opened, every carton stays accounted for on the shelf.
Customers bargain in Quartier 1. Can a cashier give a discount without changing my prices?
Yes. The cashier types the agreed discount onto the sale, and the product keeps the price you set. A cashier whose role may not change prices cannot touch your price list. The sales report then shows what each sale really fetched after the haggling.
I sell perfumes and creams that expire. Will the till sell the older stock first?
Yes. Each delivery of perfume or cream is booked in under its own expiry date. The cashier then sees the bottles nearest their date offered ahead of fresher ones. Look at the expiry report each week to see which bottles end their life next month. A bottle spotted a month early can still go on promotion or back to the supplier.
Can a wholesaler see what each trader owes?
Yes. Open an account for each trader who buys on credit, and set the most they may owe you. The till refuses a credit sale that would pass that limit. Each repayment lowers the balance straight away, and the customers report shows every trader still owing.
Can I see how much came in by card and how much in cash?
Yes. Each sale is saved with its method, and the payments report totals cash, cards and transfers day by day. Add a method for each bank terminal, and every terminal gets its own line to match against the bank. Closing the register each evening compares the drawer with what ArmPOS expects.
How do I count a warehouse full of cartons?
Download a count sheet for one warehouse and one category at a time. Key in what is really on the racks, and ArmPOS corrects the figures. Cartons crushed in handling go in as damages, kept apart from the differences the count turns up.
How is ArmPOS paid for from Djibouti?
A card pays for each paid plan in US dollars, and the peg keeps its franc figure on the pricing section almost still. The free Starter plan needs no card, so a stall in Les Caisses market can open on it first. The plan cards on this page show what each one adds once a stall grows into a shop.
