Every franc on the receipt

Frequently asked questions
What is the best POS for a neighbourhood boutique in Dakar that sells rice and sugar by the kilo?
A boutique buys rice in 50kg sacks and sells it a kilo at a time, so ArmPOS lets you set both units on the product once. Receive ten sacks, sell by the kilo, and the stock reads correctly in sacks and in kilos when you lock up. It runs on the phone already in your pocket, so the boutique can start without buying a till.
Can my customers pay with Orange Money or Free Money at the counter?
Yes, on a paid plan, through your shop's own MarzPay account. The cashier sends the payment request to the customer's phone, and the sale is marked paid once the customer approves it there. The same two wallets are offered when someone buys from your online shop, so a customer in Saint-Louis can pay for a parcel before it leaves Dakar.
I sell bazin and wax at the HLM market. Can ArmPOS count each colour separately?
Yes. Make one product for each quality of bazin and add a variant for every colour, each with its own barcode and its own count. In the weeks before Tabaski and Korité, when tailors and their customers buy the most cloth, you can see which colours are nearly gone and reorder them in time.
Do I need to buy a cash register or a computer before I start?
No. A phone, a tablet or a computer with a browser is enough to sell on the first day. Extras can come later, one at a time: a USB scanner for the busy hours, a 58mm or 80mm printer for receipts, a cash drawer driven by the QZ Tray app and a second screen that shows the buyer each price.
How much does ArmPOS cost in CFA francs?
Starter costs nothing and asks for no card: it covers 1 branch, 2 users and up to 50 products, room enough for a stall near Sandaga to try it on the lines that sell fastest. If the boutique later needs more, every paid plan is converted into CFA francs at the day's rate and settled from the shop's Orange Money or Free Money wallet for exactly that sum. A business that grows to a Dakar depot and shops in three or four towns fits Professional, which covers up to 5 warehouses, and Enterprise is there for groups that need more than five.
Our depot is in Dakar and our shops are in Thiès and Touba. How does stock get from one to the other?
Create a transfer from the Dakar depot to the Touba shop and list what goes on the truck. Nothing moves in the books until a person with the right to approve it does so, and then the goods leave the depot's count and join the shop's. Ahead of the Magal, check what the Touba shop holds and send extra stock in good time.
Is there an ArmPOS app to download from the Play Store?
There is no store download to wait for. Open ArmPOS in the browser on an Android phone, an iPhone, a tablet or a computer, add it to the home screen, and from then on it opens like an app. The camera reads barcodes too, so on day one a phone does the work of a scanner.
My product list is already in an Excel file. Do I have to type it all again?
No. Import products, customers and suppliers from Excel, and past sales and purchases from a CSV file, so the shop starts with the names, prices and quantities you already keep. Check the imported stock against the shelves once, and after that every sale keeps it current.
